Liturgical Ministries

Eucharistic Ministers

Ministry of the Eucharist gives to the minister the opportunity of bringing the Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ to the people of God. It is also the ministry of witnessing to the faith in the Real Presence of Christ in the consecrated elements. Men and women who are eighteen years or older, who participate in the Sunday Eucharist, and practice their faith, are eligible for this ministry.

The proclamation of the Word of God is truly a ministry in the Church. Lectors bring the Living word of God to the liturgical assembly when what they proclaim in faith stirs up faith in the hearers. Women and men of high school age or more are eligible for this ministry.

These important ministers welcome visitors and parishioners to Church services. The work of hospitality makes Christ known and felt by all who enter our Church.

Altar Servers

Correctly known as acolytes, servers perform the important ministry of "waiting on table" so that the Eucharist is celebrated fittingly. Traditionally a ministry for the young, serving at the altar is a ministry for any practicing Catholic.

Ministers of Care

These ministers are commissioned to bring the compassion of the Church to the sick and the homebound. During their visits, Minsters of Care bring Our Lord to the sick by His Word and by Holy Communion.

Choir, Cantors and Musicians

The ministry of sacred music is a vital service to our worshiping community. In all masses and sacramental celebrations, music makes our assembly more prayerful, more celebratory.

Bereavement Ministry

Supports the family of recently-deceased parish members by preparing and serving food and refreshments in our Fox Parish Center at the conclusion of the funeral services. All families in the parish are encouraged to participate in this ministry by donating their time, talent, and $10/year membership.

Catechetical Ministries

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

RCIA provides a process for people who wish "consciously and freely to seek the lining God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy spirit enters their hearts." The Rite requires a variety of ministries: Evangelizers who invite seekers to respond to Christ's call to follow him. Catechists who share their faith with adults who are joining the church. Sponsors who support and accompany individuals throughout the conversion process.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Children

RCIC provides the same process for children of an educable age who had not been baptized or who are much older than other children who are preparing for first Eucharist.

Faith Partners

Adults who take a special interest in individual teens who are preparing for Confirmation.

Catechists of Children in Faith Formation

Adults who are active and committed to their faith teach weekly classes of religious education to children from first grade through Confirmation (generally, grades 9 and 10.)

Adult Advisors for CYBER

Our parish youth organization, Catholic Youth Bringing Enthusiasm to Religion, works best when interested adults give support, presence, and wise counsel to our high school and post-high school youth.

Marriage Preparation

Married couples meet with engaged couples as part of our parish's preparation for the sacrament of marriage.
